Quick Reads are fast-paced, bite-sized books by bestselling writers and celebrities for adults who have lost or never had the reading habit, or for avid readers wanting a short, fast read.
On World Book Day, 6 March 2008, ten brand-new Quick Reads will be published. Take your pick from a range of writers including Gordon Ramsay, Vanessa Feltz and Colin Jackson.
Quick Reads are available from many supermarkets, bookshops, and online at just £1.99. They are also available to borrow from many libraries.
The Big Plus is helping to promote Quick Reads with a week of radio advertising across Scotland starting on 10 March.
Learndirect scotland chief executive Damien Yeates said "The thought of getting help with reading, writing and numbers can be daunting for many people. But it's not like going back to school. It can be fun and relaxed and can take place in familiar surroundings, like your local library or community centre. We're delighted to help promote Quick Reads through The Big Plus.
