Lucas says: "I’ve always enjoyed reading from a young age and I use it now to switch-off. After training or a game, where things can get really intense, it helps me relax and takes me away from any other problem I may have. I often take a book with me to some of our longer trips such as Aberdeen or Inverness. It can be a long time and instead of an iPod or a Nintento DS, I would rather read; it’s far more relaxing."
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Lucas says: "I actually read it as an adult and really enjoyed it. I think it portrays a good, important message to children about the importance of individuality."
The Winter of Discontent by John Steinbeck
Lucas says: "The Winter of Discontent is a brilliant book that I loved reading. Steinbeck is a well-known author who has had many successful titles but this deals with issues of greed and immorality in society which is pretty relevant today."
